"Think Alloa" Project
Glasgow School of Art (GSA) Product Design Year 1 Term 3 (May 2010)

It was our task to engage with the community of this small Scottish town, using many research techniques and to design something which would help the community of Alloa itself.

By interviewing many locals and council staff we had found out the main problem was communication. Me and a partner focused on the local businesses and their communications. We worked with a number of local businesses to help us design various solutions and then presented some of these concepts back to themselves and the community council.

Our proposal was an online system and a connected product which they put in their workplace. The business could then use this system to start discussions about ongoing issues. It could also be used to notify others and themselves of crime and also provoke conversation between businesses.
